Greetings earthlings! We welcome you to this blog site made specially for the College of Computer Studies of the Polytechnic State College of Antique. It's an all new site that features everything from drama (braindrained over paperwork), action (let's a marathon from one building to another-and travelling), comedy (ha..ha..ha..we;re getting crazy here), and suspense/horror (DEADLINES!).

It's more of a tale on the adventures people go through for one word: Computers!

We all know stories can't be read all at once so I was thinking of following the usual things on tv. News first before teledramas.

Which reminds me......should I start with, "Once upon a time.....?"

PSCA: Crossing provinces, creating bridges

The Polytechnic State College of Antique (PSCA), as one of the SUCs tapped by the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) to implement the latter’s iSchools project, conducted a site evaluation on seven CICT assigned public high schools in the provinces of Antique and Cebu.

The project is designed to bridge the digital divide in the country by providing computers and internet connection as well as trainings and seminars to faculty members of the chosen public high schools.

TALK ABOUT GOING THROUGH IT ALL. Engr. Nelly E. Mistio (white shirt),
project coordinator and dean of the PSCA
College of Computer Studies, and Prof. Jelyn Alentajan manage to
squeeze themselves in a local vehicle that would transport them from
the terminal to the DepEd Division Office in Cebu.

Two schools were chosen from the province of Antique:

· Antique National School
· Pascual M. Osuyos Memorial School

In the province of Cebu, five schools were chosen as project benefactors:

· Ocana National High School
· Beatriz D. Durano Memorial National High School
· Talaga National High School
· Consolacion National High School
· Lawaan National High School
Most of the high schools chosen have either insufficient supply of computer units and internet connection or none at all. PSCA, being the only state college in the province, is tasked with implementing the project’s goals.
